We created a network of students at several HBCUs in the mid-Atlantic and southern regions as HBCU ambassadors. Utilizing the insight from our ambassadors, successfully put on a number of events leading up to our main event, Walgreens’ HBCU Vaccine Bus Tour.

This was such a successful project because of our ability to recruit individuals from the communities we wish to engage in and capitalize on their knowledge to create trust and receive responses from the communities in which we engage. Our HBCU Ambassadors were the best people for the job of engaging with their fellow classmates. We provided boots on the ground outreach to drive attendance to events from Maryland to Alabama.


Walgreens wanted to raise vaccine awareness among students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
