Strategies for Change Group created a comprehensive survey to administer to residents in Howard County, MD. The survey creation process consisted of interviewing 100 residents, trial surveys to receive feedback and approval from the Horizon Foundation’s board of directors. 

Following the creation of the survey, our team hired a diverse group of canvassers from communities in and around Howard County. Our canvassers engaged residents during a 10-week program in the community via door knocking, distribution of materials and hot spotting in various areas. We also supplemented our canvassing program with a phone banking program. This made sure every community member could complete their survey and become eligible for an e-gift card for their participation. This type of community engagement will improve the relationship with the Horizon Foundation and residents in Howard County.
